6. Storage Duration
Unless a more specific storage period has been stated within this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for data processing no longer applies. Statutory retention periods (e.g., from commercial or tax law) remain unaffected.
7. cocharge Wallet (Processing of Wallet Transaction Data)
Scope of processed data
To operate the wallet feature (credits), we process the data necessary to maintain your credit balance. This includes in particular: account identifier, current balance and lifetime totals (credits earned, spent and expired), issued and spent credit amounts, the issuing program (e.g. referral program), expiration dates of individual credit batches, the split of each charging session into credit portion and payment-method portion with links to the charging session, the station and refunds, the "Use wallet credits for charging sessions" setting including the time of every change, and an immutable transaction log (issuance, spend, return, expiration, forfeiture on account closure, administrative credits, revocations and corrections with reason, timestamp and the acting cocharge staff member).
Purposes of processing
The processing serves the performance of the user contract (provision of the wallet feature, application of credits to charging sessions, handling of refunds, notifications about credits issued, upcoming expiry and expiry), settlement of charging sessions with operators, operation and evaluation of credit-issuing programs, compliance with statutory retention and documentation obligations, and the detection and prevention of abuse.
Legal bases
The processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of a contract), on Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR in conjunction with § 257 HGB and § 147 AO for compliance with commercial and tax retention obligations, and on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the integrity of the wallet feature) for abuse prevention.
Storage duration
Wallet transaction records are retained for the period required by German commercial and tax law (currently 10 years under § 257 HGB / § 147 AO). This retention obligation applies independently of any deletion request; your further rights under Section 3 of this privacy policy remain unaffected. The data is deleted after the statutory retention periods have expired.
Recipients
Wallet data is only shared with our processors (in particular our hosting and payment service providers) under the relevant data-processing agreements, and with competent authorities where required by law. For sessions paid partly with credits, our payment service provider receives the credit portion as an invoice line. Within cocharge, wallet data is transferred to the systems responsible for settlement (clearing), notifications, the referral program and support.
Further information
The contractual rules governing the wallet (issuance, expiration, refunds, account closure) can be found in our Terms and Conditions.
